The public diplomacy delegation that recently went to Iran offered a report to Prime Minister Essam Sharaf on their visit to the Persian state. The report included the issues they discussed with Iranian officials who expressed enthusiasm for turning a new page with Egypt. The delegation presented steps that should be taken towards cooperation between the two countries, including organizing tourism tours for 500 thousand Iranians within the next six months, and establishing an exhibition for Egyptian products in Iran within two months. They clarified that the Iranian government has prepared the location of the Egyptian exhibition, and allocated a week for Egyptian film in Iran. A delegation of actors will travel to Iran to participate in the week. A number of Egyptian businessmen are scheduled to visit Iran to witness the signing of an agreement between Cairo's Trade Chamber and its Iranian counterpart. Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf confirmed that the main objective of Egypt's foreign policy after the January 25 Revolution is to renew relations with states in the region, and to pave the way for restoring Egypt's position as a leading country in the Arab and African arena. Sharaf praised the visits conducted by Egypt's delegation of public diplomacy to Uganda, Ethiopia and Iran. He said the meetings held between the delegation and the political leadership of these countries strongly contributed to clarifying Egypt's policies and working towards overcoming differences.
