“People with disabilities will get all their rights through constitutional and legislative articles," said Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. Sharaf said the law presented to him about people with disabilities will be transferred to civil society organizations and the Military Council for its application. The first undersecretary for rehabilitation affairs in the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Dr. Aisha Abdel Rahman, and Dr. Hassan Youssie, the head of the Shomoa association met Sharaf today. They presented their suggestion for an active role for those with disabilities in society, and for addressing disabled rights and their problems after the Egyptian Revolution. Essam Sharaf promised to achieve disabled participation in society. The ideas discussed during the meeting were providing those with disabilities with more job opportunities, encouraging them to establish small businesses, and providing educational, medical, psychological and social services to them.
