An international conference to combat terrorism began in Tehran on Saturday. The conference used the slogan "A world Without Terrorism." The conference, which will continue for two days, will include the participation of five presidents, and about 60 officials from countries around the world, in addition to representatives from international organizations. In the conference's opening speech, the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Israel of committing crimes against humanity. He said, "There are different images of terrorism, among which are the crime Israel commits against humanity in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan." The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei criticized the U.S in a speech delivered by his consultant, describing U.S and Western claims of fighting terrorism as lies. He said they support the terrorist groups. He added that his country fights terrorism with the Islamic principles adopted by his country. The director general of the conference, Taher Yan, said that the conference will discuss ways to combat terrorism and the role of international and regional communities in this regard. He spoke of the attempts of international powers to stop the conference, saying the participation of high-profile personalities and representatives of international and regional organizations reflect the failure of these powers to achieve their objectives.
