CAIRO: Minister of Finance Samir Radwan said the government won't touch the journalists' allowance in response to rumors claiming the government would abolish the journalist allowance. During a press conference at the Council of Ministers, Radwan said he had met the chairmen of national newspapers and asked them to consider that national institutions and projects need economic restructuring. He also said, "it doesn't make any sense that we have major newspapers that lose money; these newspapers must finance themselves and not burden the state."
