CAIRO: Egypt's Minister of Power and Electricity, Hassan Younis, met with Atomic Energy Agency Chairman Mohamed Taha al-Qulali on Tuesday to discuss the crisis of Egypt's first nuclear research reactor, Anshas. They also discussed the timeline for operating a second Argentinian reactor, said sources. The sources added that the discussion included the accident of radioactive water leakage on May 25, while representatives of the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency were visiting Egypt. The minister was following up on preparations to operate the Argentinean reactor. A delegation from the Argentinean company will come to Egypt to operate the reactor, although the chairman of the National Center for Nuclear Safety sent a message to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) regarding his opinion that operating the reactor is dangerous.
