PORT SAID, Egypt: The Muslim Brotherhood will not participate in the ‘Second Friday of Anger' demonstrations scheduled for this Friday, said Samir Hamouda, the Brotherhood's spokesman in Port Said. Many activists and political groups have called on their members to participate in the demonstration. According to Hamouda, enemies are trying to trigger clashes between the military forces and national figures. The Muslim Brotherhood supports the continuation of the prosecution of all corrupted figures, he said at a seminar held by the Egyptian Democratic Institute titled, "The Pros and Cons of the Friday of Anger.” Islam Awad, a lawyer and the secretary of the freedom committee of al-Tagammu Party, said that in Egypt there are four political trends including national, social, liberal, and Islamic. The constitution should not be affected by either trend and should be written under a national agreement, he added. Awad said the laws of parties and political rights and the ban on labor strikes were passed without national or social dialogue, and so will not represent the January 25 Revolution or the new generation's aspiration. The general secretary of the Nasserist Party in Port Said said that participating on Friday is necessary so the people can exercise the right to express themselves. According to Awad, the Supreme council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) is slowly taking decisions that go against figures of the former corrupted regime. These trails happened because of the pressure of the people, and that is why the second Friday of anger should be carried out, said Awad.
