Dr. Mostafa el-Fiqi denied resigning from his position as Vice President of the Arab Parliament. He said he told the parliament of his resignation but the political office of the parliament insisted that he continue in his post, so he withdrew his decision to resign. El-Fiqi told Youm7 that he will attend the opening session tomorrow of the ordinary round of the Arab Parliament of 2011. He said that he will attend the national dialogue to write the new Egyptian constitution. Media reports said a source from the Arab Parliament announced that el-Fiqi resigned from the Arab parliament in order to protest against withdrawing his nomination to become the Secretary General of the League, which was given to Dr. Nabil al-Arabi, Egypt's foreign minister, last Sunday.
