CAIRO: Coptic Christian protesters dissolved their strike in front of Maspiro, the Egyptian television building, late on Friday. They cleaned up and opened the two-way traffic of the Corniche, a major road along the Nile, in Cairo. The Coptic sit-in outside Maspiro lasted nearly two weeks. Some Coptic youth refused to dissolve the strike yesterday, but after dialogue and negotiations demonstrators listened to security forces and suspended the strike peacefully. The demonstrations were a result of sectarian clashes that occurred in Imbaba previously between Muslims and Coptic Christians.
