CAIRO: Around 100,000 signatures have been collected from Egyptians calling for Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) to govern the country. Dozens of people from various governorates demonstrated before the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Cairo's Nasser City neighborhood asking the military Council to govern Egypt. Egyptian Labor Federation also called for a million-man demonstration on May 27 to support the military forces. The Federation distributed leaflets demanding the SCAF govern the country instead of the current government until a new president is elected. They also called on the army to pass an emergency Law to end the demonstrations and sits-in. The SCAF was charged with Egypt's administration when the country's former leader, Hosni Mubarak, resigned on Feb. 11. Since then, it has administered the country with the assistance of an interim cabinet of ministers appointed by the council.
