CAIRO: Prominent Egyptian opposition figure and 2011 presidential hopeful Mohamed el-Baradei criticized the political rights law which was passed yesterday by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF). He mockingly welcomed the law and said it deprived Egyptians abroad of their voting rights and their right to choose their representatives. “What is the point of delaying writing a new constitution that highlights Egyptian principals after the January 25 Revolution?” asked el-Baradei via Twitter on Thursday. “Isn't it logical to adopt new constitution before elections?” he asked. The presidential nominee said that Egyptians should be concerned about the status quo especially at such unpredicted times. He called for many national dialogues on Egypt's future. “Clarity of vision is a pillar of stability,” he said.
