CAIRO: Around 978 women and 93 Copts are among the 8821 members of the Freedom and Justice Party which represents 8 percent of total members, the first official political entity of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), which was banned during Mubarak's regime. Member of the Guidance office of the Islamic group, Mohamed Saad al-Katatni said to Youm7 that Mohamed Morsi will be the president of the new Freedom and Justice Party while Coptic intellectual, Raffiq Habib, will be its vice-president. Al-Katatni submitted the required papers to the political parties committee to establish the party on Wednesday. One of the Party founders, Dr. Ahmed Abu-Baraka, said the Party membership is open to all Egyptian citizens. He said 25 percent of the members of the Freedom and Justice Party are not affiliated to the MB. Coptic Christians are also members in the Party.
