GHARBYIA, Egypt: The relationship between the Muslim Brotherhood and the regime of deposed President Hosni Mubarak was like the relationship of Joesph and Zulaikha in the Old Testament, according to the Brotherhood's General Guide. According to the Old Testament story, Joseph was thrown in prison when Zulaikha, Protiphar's wife, accused Joseph of rape because he refused her advances. Mohamed Badie, General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, says Muslim Brothers were imprisoned under the Mubarak regime because of similar logic. The regime repressed Muslim Brothers who called for punishing all corrupt figures, Badie said. Those figures tried to trigger violence between the military and Brotherhood, and between Muslims and Christians during the inauguration of the MB headquarters in Tanta, he added. Badie delivered a message to the Egyptian Press to liberate itself from the police of Mubarak's regime because “the world should have integrity in writing.” Badie also accused former Minister of Agricultural Yousif Wali of burning tillage, deteriorating productivity and making cancer-causing crops for several coming years. Badie said the Brotherhood agrees that democracy should be settled by election. He also said the MB will start the “Egypt 25” television channel and establish sport clubs and theatre teams.
