Arabic: الوفد Established: 1984 Editor-in-Chief: Adel al-Qady, Adel Sabri Al-Wafd daily newspaper was founded in Giza in 1984 by the New Wafd Party (commonly referred to as al-Wafd Party). It is an opposition newspaper established to be the mouthpiece of the party, whose name means ‘Delegation' in English. The chairman of the newspaper's board is El-Sayyed el-Badawy, President of al-Wafd Party. Al-Wafd daily is an Arabic-language newspaper that covers local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events. It also has an online Arabic version. As the party mouthpiece, the paper's policy was anti-regime during the rule of ousted President Hosni Mubarak, especially during January 25 Revolution.
