Thousands demonstrated in support of the Egyptian Armed Forces in front of Omar Makram Mosque in Nasr City on Friday. The demonstration was organized to protest the accusation that the military is delaying the investigation into former president Hosni Mubarak and his family. Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf joined the demonstrators, who welcomed him, and expressed his support for the military. The Imam of Omar Makram, Sheikh Mazhar Shaheen, asked the Military Forces to increase security in Tora prison, where many politicians charged with corruption are being held. Sheikh Shaheen asked to keep the imprisoned politicians away from each other to avoid communication between them. Sheikh Shaheen also called for military diplomatic intervention to save the Egyptians still trapped in Libya.
