Corinthians goalkeeper Cassio has been named the 2012 Club World Cup best player after guiding his side to the title with a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the final on Sunday. The Brazilian guardian, who also helped his side beat Ahli 1-0 in the semi-final, managed his second clean sheet in as many games, an achievement that earned him the Golden Ball award. It is Cassio's second World Cup trophy, having been part of the squad that secured the title in 2000. Chelsea defender David Luiz won the second best player as Peru striker Paolo Guerrero came third after notching the decisive winners against Ahli and Chelsea.
