Corinthians were crowned Club World Cup champions after clinching a 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday. A second-half header from Peru striker Paolo Guerrero, who also scored the winner against Ahli in the semis, was enough for the Brazilians to secure their second World Cup trophy. Guerrero headed home on the rebound after an initial effort by Danilo was denied by Peter Cech on 69 minutes. Chelsea center-half Gary Cahill received his marching orders in the last minute of regular time after engaging in an altercation with striker Emerson. The red card was the first in the competition in two years. Earlier in the day, Mexico's Monterrey won third place after overcoming Ahli 2-0.
