Ahli will be without captain Hossam Ghaly for six months after the Egypt international damaged the cruciate ligament in the win over Hiroshima Sanfrecce. Ahli's satellite channel confirmed the news, adding that Ghaly has been totally distraught since learning the result of his scan. The 31-year-old sustained the injury after the hour mark of Sunday's Club World Cup win over Hiroshima, following a collision with an opponent. Ghaly is the second Egypt player to damage knee ligaments in the space of five days as Fiorentina center-half suffered the same injury in training.
