Striker Mohamed Al-Gabbas scored Lierse's only goal in a 4-1 Belgian league defeat to Kortrijk. The Egypt international, making his first appearance in six games after injury, came off the bench in the 73rd minute with his team trailing by three goals. Lierse, playing with a man down after the sending off of ex-Zamalek midfielder Ibrahim Ayew, conceded one more but Al-Gabbas was able to make his mark with a late consolation in the 86th minute. Egypt defender Ahmed Saied ‘Ouka', who scored the winner over Club Brugge last week, also played in the defeat to Kortrijk. The Egyptian-owned Lierse slip to 13th place, but are three points off the danger zone.
