Tunisian swimmer Oussama Mellouli sensationally won the gold medal in the Olympic Games marathon to make it two medals in London 2012. The 28-year-old dominated the 10km marathon on Friday to claim gold, a few days after winning the bronze medal in the 1500m final. It is Mellouli's second gold medal in four years, having won the 1500m race in Beijing 2008. He was followed by Germany's Thomas Lurz and Canada's Richard Weinberger. Egyptian swimmer Mazen Metwalli finished in penultimate place of the 25-man race.
