Hassan Shehata is set to resign as Zamalek coach in the wake of his recent rift with Shikabala, but the club are keen to keep him on board. Zamalek said on their website that board members are currently trying to talk the veteran coach out of his decision, which came after he guided the team to the Champions League last eight. It is believed that Shehata insists on axing star player Shikabala, who furiously reacted after his manager decided to take him off the team's last game against Maghreb Fes. FilGoal.com has learnt that Shehata is also reluctant to keep striker Mido with the team for next season, while the Zamalek board has shown no willingness to accept his request. Shehata has been in charge of Zamalek since July 2011.
