Ahli's satellite channel reported that the Ministry of Health had confirmed at least 50 people were killed in the violence that marred Ahli's league game at Masri on Wednesday. Thousands of Masri fans ran onto the pitch after their side beat league holders Ahli 3-1 in Port-Said, attempting to assault the visiting players and staff. Clashes became deadly between fans as the Ahli dressing room received several injuries, amid the mediocre security and lack of medical assistance at the stadium. Confirming Ahli's announcement, the manager of the nearest hospital to the Port-Stadium admitted that 51 people were killed in the events. Ahli players, including Egypt internationals Mohamed Barakat and Emad Meteb reflected a much stressed atmosphere in the team's dressing room shortly after the clashes. FA chairman Samir Zaher revealed that remaining games of the season will be postponed indefinitely, with the match between Zamalek and Ismaili put off at half time.
