Zamalek board has given Hassan Shehata a vote of confidence after the manager was spotted making a goodbye sign to the stands behind him in the 2-1 defeat to ENPPI. In the dying moments of the game, cameras caught Shehata making a clear indication to his exit, obviously saying ‘Thank you I am going' to a fan that seemed to be angry with the result. “Some people thought this was a goodbye sign but we believe it was only a moment of irritation from Shehata after the dramatic events of the game,” Zamalek vice-chairman Raouf Gasser told the club's website. “We are fully confident that Shehata is aware of the responsibility on his shoulder. We know that he will not turn his back on the club at such a stage. “We have the utmost faith in the abilities of the first-team management and players and we are urging fans to carry on supporting the team throughout the upcoming period.” Shehata's second league defeat with Zamalek left the team in third place with 32 points, two adrift of leaders Harras Hodoud, who will play Ittihad on Tuesday. The Master has been in charge of the Whites since last summer as he agonizingly missed out on the Egypt Cup title, also losing to ENPPI dramatically in the final.
