Zamalek were undone by another comeback from ENPPI who repeated their famous cup victory over Hassan Shehata's men in almost the same fashion. Zamalek failed to lay down their Cairo rivals' ghost as the petroleum side staged a superb comeback to cruise to another 2-1 victory, with Ahmed Abdul-Zaher notching the winner once again. Similar to what happened at Cairo Stadium last October, all goals came after the break as substitute striker Ahmed Gaafar earned the Whites a 60th minute lead but forward Ahmed Raouf restored parity 12 minutes later after also coming off the bench. Egypt striker Abdul-Zaher sealed the fightback in the 80th minute, curiously, one minute earlier than the timing of his decisive winner in the Egypt Cup final last year. Zamalek freeze on 32 points in third place while ENPPI climbed to ninth spot with 29 but the former have a game in hand. Balls, fightback, invasion and Shehata goodbye ! The match witnessed a bizarre incident early on as play was interrupted several times due to balls being hurled onto the pitch from the Zamalek fans in protest over the potential execution of a professional football league. Cameroonian Alexis Mendomo made his debut in place of the suspended Ibrahim Salah in Shehata's three-man midfield, which gave Zamalek control in the first half almost breaking the deadlock on 13 minutes through a Razak Omotoyossi effort that was brilliantly parried by keeper Ali Lotfi. Zamalek were in charge with some free-flowing football but without much of clear-cut chances as ENPPI could have scored against the run of play when Abdul-Zaher's free-kick narrowly missed the target. In the second half, Shehata threw in striker Gaafar for Mohamed Ibrahim, with the substitute scoring one minute later when he dispatched a sublime strike from a tight angle into the top right corner to fire his side ahead. Zamalek maintained the upper hand after taking the lead but it was the hosts who scored when striker Raouf, a substitute as well, pounced on a loose ball to hit a magnificent volley from inside the area leaving Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed with no chance. Shehata introduced Islam Awad, who joined Zamalek from ENPPI a few days ago, as he almost punished his former club with a powerful shot that could only hit the side-netting, in what could have been an emphatic debut goal. But at the time when Zamalek fans were eagerly-anticipating another goal from their team, Abdul-Zaher was there to haunt them with a well-placed shot at the far post following a fine team move involving Raouf and Adel Mostafa. Another bizarre moment interrupted the game when an apparently-angry Zamalek fan invaded the pitch holding the club's flag, before being calmed down by Gaafar and Shikabala. Keeper Lotfi made a superb save to deny Shikabala's one-on-one effort as Zamalek had a penalty shout after the ball touched a defender's hand while clearing it. In the dying moments of the game, cameras caught Zamalek boss Shehata waving to a fan that he is leaving, in what seemed to be a reaction to an angry note from the stands.
