Hossam Al-Badri was off to a winning start with new club ENPPI thanks to a superb double from Amr Al-Halawani against Military Production.
Former Ahli full-back Al-Halawani scored twice in the first half to give his side a 2-0 away win, their first in six matches and the first under coach Al-Badri who took over from Mokhtar Mokhtar on Thursday.
In Alexandria, Shawki Gharib's Smouha registered their first win of the season, beating lowly Dakhlia 2-1, with Hani Al-Egeizi and Samuel Affum on target.
Police Union moved to second with a 1-0 win over Ittihad, courtesy of a late strike by Mohamed Maged.
