Ivorian striker Oussou Konan bagged a hat-trick to inspire MCDR to a crushing 5-2 victory over Ittihad in the fifth week of the Egyptian Premier League. Sameh Adrous and Konan gave the Fayoum-based side a two-goal cushion after just 10 minutes but Mahmoud Samir pulled one back for Ittihad. Konan restored MCDR's two-goal lead, Fouad Salama added another from the spot before the Ivorian completed his hat-trick with 30 minutes remaining. Ahli loanee Afrotto scored a late consolation goal for Ittihad, who were also battered 4-0 in last season's corresponding fixture. Elsewhere, newcomers Ghazl Mahalla claimed their first point in five games after holding Petrojet to a 2-2 draw. Burkina Faso international Mohamed Koffi opened the scoring for Petrojet but Nigerian striker Samuel Ousso equalized for the Peasants, before on-loan Zamalek defender Mostafa Hegab grabbed the second. But Koffi was there again to deny Mahalla with his fourth of the season 11 minutes from time.
