Ahli boss Manuel Jose paid tribute to his predecessors Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi ‘Zizo' and Hossam Al-Badri after claiming the Best Manager award for the 2010/2011 season. The Portuguese was granted the prize after leading a turn-around in the Red Devils' fortunes following his return at the second half of last season. He managed to overturn a six-point deficit to eventually clinch the league title from arch-rivals Zamalek as Ahli finished five points clear on top. “Hossam Al-Badri and Zizo are partners in this success for the contributions they made prior to my arrival,” The 65-year-old was quoted as saying by Ahli's website. “The fans also take credit; the title was achieved for their sake. I am always keen to make them happy.” Jose has always been a cult-figure among the Reds' faithful as the six-time African champions enjoyed a blaze of glory under his management over three distinct spells.
