Ismaili are in no need for new signings ahead of the new season, according to manager Hossam Hassan. The beleaguered Dervishes have been facing severe instability recently, which saw newly-hired chairman Yehia Al-Koumi step down after less than a month in charge. While most of the first team players are struggling to receive their late wages, Hossam Hassan and his twin brother Ibrahim (football director) do not seem to be looking to any transfer targets in the meantime. “I have about 18 players who are among the best in Egypt, in addition to some decent youngsters,” Hossam Hassan told FilGoal.com. “Ismaili do not need any new signings, and if I decided to bring in players, I won't be looking for big names. “The squad only need support from the fans and the financial backing of the board.” Despite his unofficial resignation, Al-Koumi is still considered Ismaili chief as no other candidate has stepped up for the position so far. However, a number of prominent Ismaili players expressed their frustration at the presence of Al-Koumi by refusing to train in protest a few days ago. It remains to be seen how the Dervishes will get past their administrative ordeal ahead of the new season, given that they are only top-flight side who have yet to make any new signings this summer.
