Egypt continue searching for a manager after Colombian Nelo Vingada opted for a lucrative offer from the China national team, the FA said on Sunday. Vingada, a former Zamalek and Olympic team coach, has been in talks with Egypt during the past few days over the possibility of succeeding Hassan Shehata. But he eventually decided to join China, leaving the FA with limited choices for a foreign coach to take the hot seat. Subsequently, the association announced that a national manager will be in charge of the African champions, but no candidates have been mentioned so far. The names of Tarek Yehia and Talaat Youssef were reportedly mentioned right after Shehata's departure, but the latter became an unlikely option after joining Masri.
