Police Union beat Arab Contractors 2-0 on Friday to reach the fourth spot as MCDR held to a 2-2 draw by Gouna. Police and MCDR now have 41 points, but the first lead on goal difference. ENPPI, on 39 points, could leapfrog both teams on Saturday when they visit bottom side Ittihad Alexandria. In Gouna, MCDR were two down after just 32 minutes after Hussein Ali scored from the spot before Nour Al-Sayed doubled the lead with a long-range drive. Tarek Yehia's side closed the gap when defender Ahmed Bakri's free-kick floated over the wall and into the net. Oussou Konan leveled just before the break when he netted easily after going one-on-one with keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef. Later in Cairo, Police faced no resistance from Arab Contractors and managed to score a goal in every half to emerge as winners. Osama Azab opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Fathi Mabrouk's misguided cross fell behind the Contractors' advancing keeper.
