Ittihad claim they have five other clubs on their side in the quest to call off the 2010-2011 Egyptian Premier League season. Against all odds, the Egyptian FA managed to win the approval of authorities to resume the competition, even after the alerting events that marred Zamalek's match with Africain. But the Egyptian football ruling body conceded that all league contestants must agree on the resumption, scheduled for the 13th of April. “Five other clubs, plus us, signed a petition rejecting the restart of the league season,” Ittihad vice-chairman Tarek Al-Gallad told FilGoal.com. "The clubs are Gouna, Smouha, Wadi Degla, Arab Contractors and Masri. “We cannot put the safety of players and fans in danger in order to complete the competition. What happened in the Zamalek match was evidence.” Ittihad, who are struggling with financial and managerial problems, are currently bottom of the Premier League table with 11 points from 15 games.
