Ahli were boosted by the news that influential midfielder Hossam Ashour will be fit for Thursday's derby clash against Zamalek. The 24-year-old aggravated an ankle injury in Saturday's draw with Arab Contractors and was considered a major doubt for the Zamalek encounter. But Ahli said on their website that he was able to train with the team on Tuesday and could return to the starting line-up in the Reds' final match of 2010. Ahli have been struggling without Ashour in recent weeks, dropping a number of points during his absence. Meanwhile, striker Mohamed Fadl will have a fitness test on Wednesday, following the hamstring injury he picked up in the Contactors match.
