Ahli's caretaker coach Abdul-Aziz Abdul Shafi 'Zizo' says his side will produce a solid display against Zamalek despite their embarrassing 1-1 draw with Arab Contractors. The Red Devils could have lost to the Mountain Wolves at home in Saturday's Egyptian Premier League match if it wasn't for a late strike from schemer Ahmed Shokri. Ahli's performance was notably below-par, which raised doubts over their chance of beating their arch-rivals Zamalek in the Cairo derby on December 30th. But Zizo reassured Ahli's fans, saying his men will redeem themselves ahead of the eagerly-awaited clash. "I'm sure we will be in a better form against Zamalek," he said during the post-match press conference. Zizo cited the capital derby as a possible reason why his players were not at their best while facing Contractors. "Our match with Zamalek might have distracted them," he explained. "We were also terribly jinxed. We wasted many scoring chances," Zizo added. Title holders Ahli are now in fourth place with 24 points, six behind league leaders Zamalek.
