Mido came off the bench to score the winning goal in Ajax's 2-0 victory over VVV-Venlo on Sunday. The Egyptian replaced Christian Eriksen on 56 minutes to net his first league goal for Ajax six minutes later, steering home a seven-yard finish. Winger Miralem Sulejmani doubled the Amsterdammers' lead in the 70th minute to put the game to bed. Ajax were without influential forward Luis Suarez, who is serving a seven-match ban for biting Otman Bakkal of PSV. Martin Jol's side move to third place on 31 points, two adrift of joint-leaders PSV and Twente.
