Ajax Amsterdam battered Heracles Almelo 4-1 in the Dutch Eredivisie, while Egyptian striker Mido was kept on the bench during the match. Mido, who only featured for Ajax twice this season, was also kept on the sidelines during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Heerenveen. In Saturday's game Mounir El Hamdaoui, Rasmus Lindgren, Andre Ooijer and Miralem Sulejmani scored for the capital side on 16, 55, 78 and 81 minutes respectively. The home side hit their only goal eight minutes past the half-hour mark, thanks to a Willie Overtoom strike. Ajax are now in third place with 27 points, trailing leaders FC Twente Enschede by one.
