Algeria boss Rabah Saadane named a list of 25 players for the pre-World Cup training camp in Switzerland on May 13th. A major absentee from the list was midfielder Khaled Lemmouchia, who has been a regular for the Fennecs throughout the qualifying campaign. There was also no place for Yassine Bezzaz and Hameur Bouazza, who were both selected in the 2010 African Cup of Nations. "Selection has been a real headache but I wanted to keep the backbone of the team that got through to the semi-finals in Angola," said coach Saadane. New faces include the likes of Carl Medjani, Habib Belaid, Djamel Mesbah, Adlane Gedioura, Fouad Kadir and Riad Boudebouz. Sochaux highly-rated midfielder Boudebouz, who is only 20, could be the youngest ever player to represent Algeria in the World Cup. Algeria will compete in Group C, along with England, USA and Slovenia.
