Retaining top flight-status will be the least Lierse SK can seek after sealing promotion to the Belgian first division, Mohamed Abdul-Wahed said after scoring the opener in his side's decisive 2-1 win over Waasland. The in-form Egyptian winger set Lierse on their way to a remarkable victory after opening the scoring in the 22nd minute. He controlled a pass on the edge of the area, evaded a challenger and sent a trademark left-foot shot into the bottom corner of the net. Cameroonian striker Joseph-Desire Job doubled the lead three minutes later to send the home fans into raptures as they celebrated the four-time Belgian champions' return to the Jupiler Pro League. Lierse gained an unassailable five-point lead over second-placed Lommel with one match remaining. "I can't describe my feelings right now, I'm over the moon," Abdul-Wahed told FilGoal.com by telephone late on Sunday. "I was also delighted to score one of the goals which gave us a place in the first division. "This goal will be always remembered in Lierse's history. God helped me cap my efforts this season." Abdul-Wahed has been a revelation for Lierse, who are owned by Egyptian businessman Maged Sami, since joining in 2007 after spells with Tersana, Zamalek and Ismaili in Egypt. He is the team's third top scorer this season with 11 goals. He also dished out numerous assists throughout their successful campaign. Lierse have now started their plans for next season. A cameo role will not be accepted. "We want do well in the first division, we are an ambitious team," Abdul-Wahed, who celebrated Sunday's victory by waving Egypt's flag following the game, added. "We don't want just to avoid relegation; our ambitions are bigger than that. We want to occupy a decent league position and we have the sufficient resources to achieve that target."
