Zaki to give up Hull dues for Zamalek sake
Published in FilGoal on 25 - 04 - 2010

Amr Zaki is willing to sacrifice the money Hull City owe him to be able to take part in Zamalek's remaining games in the Egyptian league and cup, FilGoal.com has learned.
The Bulldozer joined English Premier League side Hull from Zamalek in January on a loan deal that was due to expire at the end of the season.
However, his adventure came to a premature end after a succession of niggling injuries prompted Hull coach Iain Dowie to inform him that he could no longer feature with the Tigers in their bid to avoid relegation.
The club were still obliged to pay Zaki his wages until the loan spell officially ends in June.
The Egypt striker is now seeking to terminate that deal to acquire his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and become eligible to play with Zamalek.
"Zaki demonstrated his love for Zamalek. He went to Zamalek's headquarters on Sunday and expressed his wish to play in the remaining league and cup games," the club's board member and former playmaker Hazem Emam said.
"He said he is ready to give up the EGP one million Hull owe him. He also said he doesn't want to take any money from Zamalek until the end of the season.
"Zaki will sit down with coach Hossam Hassan to make the final decision over the matter."
Hassan is likely to accept Zaki's request, given Zamalek's shortage of options upfront.
The Cairo giants struggled without the presence of Zaki and Mido, who also left in January to join English side West Ham.
Ahmed Gaafar is often deployed as a lone frontman but his inconsistent displays did not convince Zamalek fans.
Zamalek are favorites to finish as runners-up in the league and earn a place in the African Champions League next season.
Their only hope of silverware lies in the cup, where they will face lower division side Fayoum in the first round.
They are expected to meet arch-rivals Ahli in the following round as the latter also open their campaign against another lower division club in Nabaroh.
