Didier Drogba will not take part of his team's first two games in the UEFA Champions League next season after his red card against Inter Milan. The Ivorian hitman was sent off in Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to the Italian champions earlier this month for stamping on midfielder Thiago Motta late in the game. "The suspension applies to the next two UEFA club competition matches for which Drogba would be eligible," read a UEFA statement. Curiously, Drogba missed Chelsea's first three Champions League games this season through suspension, following his rant against referee Tom Henning Ovrebo in the defeat to Barcelona last year.
