Mohamed Zidan's Borussia Dortmund failed to secure a fourth successive Bundesliga victory after being held to a goalless draw by bottom side Hertha Berlin on Saturday. Dortmund were hoping to extend their winning run after an impressive form of late but could not overcome Hertha away from home. Egypt forward Zidan, who played a key role in Dortmund's superb run with his assists and crucial goals, started the game but could not make a notable impact. He had a shot blocked by Hertha keeper on the quarter hour mark and whipped in a fine cross for Felipe Santana in the 33rd minute but the latter's header missed the target. Zidan, who has scored six league goals so far this season, was replaced at halftime, making way for Hungarian midfielder Tamas Hajnal. Dortmund are still fourth in the table with 49 points, one ahead of Werder Bremen who beat Nurnberg 4-2. A fourth-place finish will help Dortmund qualify for the Europa League, the continent's secondary competition.
