Skipper Mark van Bommel has penned a one-year contract extension with Bayern Munich, the German club said on Wednesday. The Dutchman's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season but he opted to prolong his stay with the Bavarians. "A one-year extension is what I wanted," Van Bommel told Bayern's official website. "I want to succeed with this team and win trophies. That's our target now and for next season. Once we've hit our targets, we'll talk again." The 32-year-old has been a regular member of Bayern's midfield since joining from Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer of 2006.
