Lazio have announced the sacking of manager Davide Ballardini, appointing Edoardo Reja with immediate effect. "SS Lazio announces that it has sacked coach Davide Ballardini and his staff. Coach Edoardo Reja has taken over the team," a club statement read. Ballardini, who leaves Lazio in 18th place of the Serie A table, is the 11th coach to lose his job in Italy this term. Meanwhile, coach Reja took the job after stepping down from his former position as manager of Croatian side Hajduk Split. "It was not an easy decision and after thinking long and hard about this, I chose to return home," said the Italian tactician. "I leave a piece of my heart at Hajduk Split, but I wanted to come back to Italy. I've given my word to Lazio President Claudio Lotito."
