Tunisia clash with Cameroon and Zambia play Gabon in the final round of Group D as Egypt watch in anticipation to find out whom they will play in the quarter-finals. The Pharaohs came on top of Group C after collecting maximum points and are set to play the second-placed side from the fourth group. Gabon are in charge of the group with four points, followed by Cameroon who have three. Tunisia come third with two points while Zambia trail the group on one point. A FilGoal.com poll on both the Arabic and English copies showed that most Egyptians prefer to avoid Tunisia and Cameroon. Zambia, followed by Gabon, are the most preferred opponents, according to the poll that attracted more than 10,000 voters.
But Ahli's veteran midfielder Mohamed Barakat has a different view point. "Egypt will have no problem playing Cameroon, but Gabon will be tough opponents," he told FilGoal.com. Barakat, winner of the African Cup 2006, said that Egypt have always known how to play Cameroon, recalling memories from the last tournament two years ago. The defending champions beat Cameroon twice in Ghana, beating them in their first game 4-2 before winning 1-0 in the final. "We have a psychological edge over Cameroon. Besides, they always tend to show off their skills, while Egypt play to win," he added. Cameroon are tipped to beat the inexperienced Tunisian side, who settled for two draws in the tournament so far. In the other game, Gabon are seen favorites to beat Zambia, who despite their fine displays, were held by Tunisia before falling against the Indomitable Lions.
