Ahli have played down Mohamed Barakat's decision to postpone talks over a new contract with the club, denying any dispute with the player. Over the past few months, Ahli couldn't agree terms of an extension with the 33-year-old, who runs out of contract in the summer of 2010. "Barakat made a decision to delay negotiations and we accepted it, but this doesn't mean there is a dispute," Ahli football director Hadi Khashaba told the club's official site. "We respect key players of great experience and Barakat leads the line. "Long negotiations don't mean there is a rift. I think this is vindicated by the inclusion of Barakat in the African Champions League squad. "Some people are trying to cause distraction by misusing our contract talks with Barakat, Emad Meteb and Ahmed Al-Sayed." Meanwhile, Ahli said that Barakat has resumed full training after recovering from a hamstring tear. Despite his recovery, Barakat has been ruled out of the 2010 African Cup of Nations as he failed to make Egypt's provisional squad.
