Zamalek have tabled a bid to sign ENPPI youngster Hossam Hassan in the January transfer window, the latter club said on Friday. "We are ready to sell Hassan, he doesn't benefit us," ENPPI coach Diaa Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com. Hassan, whose name is similar to Zamalek coach's, has been skipping ENPPI's training for nearly a month now as he seeks to leave the petroleum club. He showed glimpses of his talent during Egypt's U-20 World Cup campaign on home soil in September and October. Zamalek are seeking to reinforce their midfield after finding it difficult to make up for the loss of Tamer Abdul-Hamid, who was released by the club in the summer of 2008 after his form faded. Abdul-Hamid was widely acclaimed for perfectly accomplishing defensive duties in Zamalek's midfield during a glorious four-year spell in the early 2000s. The club signed a host of midfielders over the past few years but none proved to be reliable. Although Ibrahim Salah and Hassan Mostafa, the current partners in the heart of team's midfield, put in some fine displays lately, Zamalek are eyeing further additions. FilGoal.com has learned that Zamalek's arch-rivals Ahli are also interested in landing Hassan.
