The Egyptian FA might backtrack on an apparent decision to appoint Hani Ramzy as the national Olympic team's coach, FilGoal.com has learned. Former Egypt defender Ramzy was tipped to take over at the newly-formed Olympic team, who will soon start their preparations for the 2012 London Games qualifiers. However, some EFA members voiced reservations over the potential appointment of the 40-year-old, who was the assistant of former Egypt U-20 coach Miroslav Soukup during the September-October World Cup on home soil. "Some members told chairman Samir Zaher today that they did not agree on appointing Ramzi as the Olympic team coach," an EFA official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com on Friday. "Zaher said that a final decision over the matter might be taken on Monday." Police Union boss Talaat Youssef and Egypt's senior team assistant Hamada Sedki have emerged as possible candidates for the job. Rookie coach Ramzy, who announced his retirement from football in 2007, occupied the number one's role just once in his limited managerial experience, managing ENPPI for a brief spell in 2007. The Egyptian national team have not reached the Olympic Games since 1992.
