Egypt first team coach Hamada Sedki was surprised to see the fans' warm reception to the team on Thursday morning, in the wake of the crucial defeat to Algeria. Egypt's World Cup hopes were blown away by a wonder goal from Antar Yahia in Sudan, and Sedki implied that supporters have every right to be upset. "We were really surprised by the warm reception we got after arriving at Cairo Airport," the former Egypt defender told FilGoal.com. "I think we don't deserve that after we failed to qualify for the World Cup." Sedki also revealed how Egypt boss Hassan Shehata and his assistants were devastated after the game, adding that president Hosni Mubarak's call was valuable. "Of course we were all sad after the game. Coach Shehata was particularly distraught, but president Mubarak's call calmed him down somehow," he added.
