Bayern Munich vice-captain Philipp Lahm issued an official apology after criticizing the club's management in public, the Bundesliga giants said Monday. Lahm has been heavily fined by Bayern after questioning the transfer policy of manager Louis van Gaal in an interview published by Sueddeutsche. The Germany full-back also criticized the board, in what was described by Bayern as a 'striking and unforgivable manner'. But the Bavarians said that Lahm met with board members and apologized after a 'very open, comprehensive and constructive talk.' In the same manner, Italy striker Luca Toni has also apologized to the club after leaving the Allianz Arena without permission in the weekend's draw with Schalke. Toni was obviously unhappy at being substituted by manager Van Gaal during the half-time of the Bundesliga game, which ended 1-1. The 32-year-old was also fined by the club on Sunday.
