Ahli head coach Hossam Al-Badri is planning to play Emad Meteb in the Red Devils' exhibition games during the current league stoppage period, in order to help him regain his goalscoring form. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since April, when he suffered knee ligament damage while playing for Saudi giants Ittihad, the club whom he joined on a year-long loan last term. He was set to return to action early in September after reaching full recovery, but the coaching staff preferred to keep him on the sidelines for several more weeks to avoid a possible relapse. Now Meteb is set to make his comeback in the Egyptian Premier League break. "Taking part in the upcoming friendly games will psych Meteb up after his lengthy lay-off," Al-Badri told FilGoal.com. The Cairo side will take on second division sides MCSD and GASCO in warm-ups, and they are yet to set up a third friendly. Former Ahli prodigy Meteb nursed his knee problem for five months, and will be looking to get his match fitness back. Al-Badri assured that the prolific marksman would be ready for league action once the competition has resumed. "He'll be fit by the time the league restarts," he concluded.
