Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel has picked up a complex injury in the Bavarians' first Bundesliga game, and will be sidelined for a month as a result. Upon hurting his foot, the Dutch midfielder made way for Anatoliy Tymoschuk ten minutes from the final whistle of Saturday's match, which ended in a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim. The 32-year-old was then rushed to hospital, where he underwent examinations that confirmed he suffered a fractured toe and a ruptured tendon. "It's a real blow for me personally, especially as it's all started so well," Van Bommel told Bayern's official website. "I'll be back as soon as I can, and I'll pick it all up where I've left off." Van Bommel was also ruled out of Holland's exhibition match with England on Wednesday.
