World governing body 'FIFA' fined the Algerian FA $20,000 as a result of the Algerian fans' excessive use of fireworks during their country's World Cup qualifier with Egypt, announced the Algerian association's official website. The FA also called on the Algerian supporters not to use fireworks in Algeria's upcoming games in order to avoid more possible penalties. The Desert Foxes defeated Egypt 3-1 last month at Moustapha Tchaker Stadium. For several minutes in the second half, the pitch was completely covered with a thick cloud of smoke after the Algerian spectators set off their fireworks. Algeria, leaders of Group C with seven points, will host Zambia and Rwanda in their upcoming two World Cup qualifying matches.
